PostSubject: Paggi House (Austin)   Fri 20 Jul 2007, 11:28 am

According to, 'Historic Austin: A Collection of Walking/ Driving Tours,' the structure now referred to as the Paggi House -- located at 200 Lee Barton -- was likely built prior to 1850 by Col. S. W. Goodrich. Being situated on the southern bank of the Colorado River, it was accessible to travelers, the source of its earlier title, 'the Old Inn.' Robert E. Lee is believed to have lodged there.

In 1884, the house was purchased by businessman, Michael Paggi, who had built the eastern addition and a gingerbread-style porch.

Does anyone know more about this structure? Apparently, it is serving as a restaurant/ nightclub (?) at present.
