| Don't bring your tents. This is the smallest state park in Texas and is all about the memory of Davy Crockett's wife Elizabeth. You can stop here on your way home from Dinosaur Valley. Last fall some moms I know visited dressed in period clothing with their daughters.
We found this story on Texas Escapes about Elizabeth Crockett ~ http://www.texasescapes.com/MikeCoxTexasTales/228-Davy-Crocketts-Widow-Elizabeth-Patton-Crockett.htm
You can go to this site and print some of the articles to take on your next road trip.

| I haven't visited tiny Acton State Park in over twenty years .... when my son was a babe and our small family took to the backroads one summer afternoon.
We also saw the little Sam Woody cabin -- still in its isloated location on what then was little more than a dirt trail in Wise County -- for the first time, that day.
How neat to dress up in old-fashioned attire in memory of Elizabeth Crockett
Thanks also for the homemade, travel-book idea!
