We'll be spending a couple of nites in Waco next month/June. I've heard the zoo is nice and a few other things but does anybody have any other places to visit they can suggest?

Well, Baylor has a pretty good natural history museum on campus, plus the marvelous literary collections there. Texas Ranger Museum & Hall of Fame. Dr. Pepper Museum. Just driving through the park down by the Brazos (up-stream from down town) is nice. There is the suspension bridge across the Brazos (foot traffic only these days; built by the Roeblings, like its larger cousin the Brooklyn Bridge).

Hi Madelyn ...

It's been a long time since I've visited Waco; another place which would be wonderful to explore at leisure!

I think that Clyde gave you some excellent leads. I've also long desired to see Waco Springs, which are said still to be visible near the suspension bridge.

Laura Trim offers a hefty section on Waco in her 'Day Trips In and Around Dallas.'

Hope great times are ahead for you all there! sunny

THANK YOU for your suggestions.

We ended up staying most of the time in Fairfield but checked out the bridge etc. on one afternoon.

Regards, Madelyn
