| For forty-nine years, the painted backroads of Wood and Franklin Counties have yielded up their beauty to the Winnsboro Autumn Trails. If one wishes to catch a glimpse of rural East Texas and also, perhaps, a reflection of the fall glory which has made famous the northeastern section of our country, a drive to this quaint town is well worth the modest mileage (unless, of course, you are reading from points far to the west ) I believe that the Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce still provides little booklets to help visitors navigate their way through the countryside. The Autumn Trails are in full swing at present, being held officially every weekend in October. Now, if the temperature would just cool down a bit to help the leaves do their thing ...

| | I've never been on the Autumn trails but you're right, east Texas can be absolutely gorgeous this time of year. |
