| A number of years ago, I discovered this beautiful portrait at an estate sale which was held in a home located on County Road 424 (just north of Highway 380, several miles east of Denton). Unfortunately, the young man who was working the sale was alone when we arrived and could tell us nothing of the family with whom it may have originated. I have always regretted not returning to the sale when those who were in charge were present, so as possibly to learn more about the portrait.
Also, I am seeking to learn the name of the small cemetery which is located in Cross Roads on the east side of Highway 377, not far from where one turns north from 380. A small, frame building stands in front of this cemetery. At one time, I was told that it had been a general store; later, it served as the meeting house for the Cross Roads Women's Club. It would also be very nice to know something of the history of this Club.
