| Holly I meant to tell you we picked up this brochure about Miss Molly's Hotel on Fort Worth. It also lists the Historic Cattleman's Restaurant and the White Elephant Saloon. It looks real nice Here's what I found online, http://www.missmollyshotel.com/ |

| Thanks, Mari! That looks to be an absolutely wonderful, gorgeous place to stay! I love the decor and the color schemes which they have chosen for the old 'establishment.'
I had read of Miss Molly's previously. The inn and its evolution are featured in one of Docia Schultz Williams' books of Texas ghost stories which, by the way, provide a very enjoyable way to learn the history that you might not stumble over (well heck, these are spirit tales, after all) elsewhere. Miss Molly's Hotel -- and other Fort-Worth locations -- can be found 'storified' in 'Phantoms of the Plains: Tales of West Texas Ghosts.' A couple of the chapter titles are, "Of Course There Are Phantoms at Fort Phantom Hill!" and "The Ghost Who Loved the Ladies." I know that reading along such lines may sometimes conflict with beliefs but for the most part, what is found in these pages is just the stuff of unanswered questions; the mysteries and even the "scandals so dear to the hearts of all nations." (Robert LeRoy Parker, quoted from Anne Meadows' 'Digging Up Butch and Sundance) Mari, I want to stay at Miss Molly's, and I will not be afraid!
There's another thread available now for the discussion of historic saloons. Perhaps we can learn more about the White Elephant there

PS. I'd love to go into the bed-and-breakfast business! _________________ The woman of the frontier made the best of her situation, for she had developed a respect for the land that gave her freedom as well as the courage to live in it. ~~~ from the perspective of Anne Seagraves |

| This is someplace my husband would probably take me to He'd probably want to reserve Miss Josies' room himself even thought it costs $$$. And I don't believe in ghosts. Madelyn |
