PostSubject: Indian Burial Ground and Old Spanish Cemetery (Denton Co.)   Fri 01 Jun 2007, 4:50 pm

In the vicinity of the Stony Community in northwestern Denton County, there are said to be two abandoned cemeteries: Indian Burial Ground (#47 on the map linked to below), and Old Spanish (#81). I have never sought out these resting places, but have long wished to learn more of them. Might someone have information?

PS. As one can see from the map, many of these cemeteries are abandoned and likely need looking after. Much work has been done on recording the cemeteries of Denton County by those involved in the USGenWeb Tombstone Project, as can be viewed here:
