| Yes, dear ones ... we now are blessed with a somewhat primitive 'chat' component. Just look down to the bottom of the page and you should see your name, that of whomever else may be visiting; one click ... and you're talking 'Texas'

| Ok so I went into the chat. I'd really like to talk with you guys but I'd like to hear you to tell the truth.
It's a nice chat. Do you ever get together in there?

| I think that it is a nice feature too, Lindsay. But we really haven't used it. This forum began after a message board associated with the Dallas Historical Society experienced severe technical problems. One of the members of that forum was especially fond of chatting online and of drawing articles to post from the local newspaper. She was taught how to search the archives of the Dallas Morning News to locate topics of historical interest. This chat feature also was set up with her in mind. But while she is soft-spoken and seemingly sensitive ~ and several of us trusted her as a friend, we found her instead to be wielding a sword. She betrayed this forum callously, and hurt several posters from the DHS message board deeply .... a number of whom had met her personally. I had not, but was brought to tears on a number of occasions by her actions. It is a situation with which I still struggle at times and pray about ~ but provided me the important lesson of remembering to guard one's heart while interacting online. Maybe we will set a time to chat here someday. Though set in 'cybertime,' though, here is another forum which several folks from the old DHS board yet frequent: http://dallashistory.freeforums.org/ _________________ The woman of the frontier made the best of her situation, for she had developed a respect for the land that gave her freedom as well as the courage to live in it. ~~~ from the perspective of Anne Seagraves |

| I think we should do it sometime. I think it would be fun. We could even do something like play a history game online. I'd lose but I don't care.
Holly some people don't have morals. They don't care who they hurt in fact they enjoy hurting other people because they are so full of hate and envy. I'm sorry about what happened but I've seen what this person did after she left here. I've read the messages that people posted on your old history board about Dallas so just remember you're not alone. She probably loves to compete and dividing people and being in charge of them. I've also seen the website she made with those very scary sculptures. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing and unfortunately there is usually no way you can know this until after the fact. If she takes somebody else's idea and runs with it I don't think you could ever get through to her. I've tried it myself before with people, fortunately not many, and because they cared about about just themselves it was a no go.
I'm praying for you but just try to let it go. Really we should be praying for this person.

| Have I missed the date?
Miss Cedar, this "mystery woman" can never approach the quality, depth and character you possess. Nothing she does should be your concern. She's just a cheap knock-off and deserves nothing better than our indifference.
That is an important lesson btw, guarding your heart. Either by accident or purpose, there are not too many safe places left.
So, is it this coming Saturday or this past?
Has anyone here been to Trade Days in McKinney? |

| No ... you haven't missed; not to worry.
But I have been to McKinney's trade days. These are fine, so far as they go, but remain in the shadows of Canton's first-Monday commitment. Theirs is a vow that I also hope to keep this year. Wanna go?!

Here is a display which I believe you would appreciate. It comes courtesy of our Sir Sound Town. Doesn't it make you feel like a seventeen-year-old all over again?

I've forgotten why Derek Shulman came to live in Dallas for a time, during the 1980s .... but know that you would remember. Was brother Ray ever around, by chance? he he
Now, adorable Kerry I do recall, in his solitude outside of the Agora .... but was hesitant to pierce this ~ and did not. _________________ The woman of the frontier made the best of her situation, for she had developed a respect for the land that gave her freedom as well as the courage to live in it. ~~~ from the perspective of Anne Seagraves |

| The McKinney flea market is ok. It's a nice place to take the kids on a weekend. Here's a link I found about it. http://www.tmtd.com/history.htm |

| I'd love to do these trade days things, but I work M-F. I know I can't make it to Canton on a Monday before they roll up the streets at night. McKinney might be more do-able.
I'm considering a new puppy to add to the pack. I was told there might be some fair breeders there.
Derek Shulman... Why do I know that name? Miss Cedar, you know full well I had too much fun in the 70's. Jog my memory for me will ya? |
