| It really always should be thanksgiving-time, shouldn't it? But as we sit down before our bountiful tables with our dear ones during the last week of November, it is 'meet and right' to remember these very early celebrations, which were observed on Texas soil:

| Happy Thanksgiving all.
Is anybody else spending time in the kitchen today?

| And a blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours as well, Madelyn
I'm not so kitchen-bound this year as last, since we'll be enjoying the table of my parents. Last year, though, we celebrated here in our new (well, to us, anyway) home and it was very nice

| In my next to last year of teaching we had a "tamale" Thanksgiving given to our class by two of the mothers. We did talk about some of these first celebrations in the southwest.
How interesting that Texas was one of the first states to have a calendar Thanksgiving and the last state to declare the fourth Thursday in November the official celebration.
